About Graveyard Gallery
As of April 2024, Graveyard Gallery is no longer hosting shows due to issues with the City Codes Department. The specific issues have not been publicized, but Graveyard Gallery said it is “surrounding the external space and available parking.” They were unable to acquire enough donations to cover legal fees and necessary renovation costs. At this time, it is presumed that Graveyard Gallery will not reopen.
Graveyard Gallery was an all-ages show room located behind Chrome Halo Tattoo & Body Piercing (who also owned the venue). They hosted a wide variety of shows and events, from Goth Prom to Boro Fondo; from wrestling to a furry rave. They were even brave enough to host Belushi Speedball in 2023, a band notorious for their messy stage show (I personally picked up a soggy hush puppy during that cleanup…).
It was a long rectangular, concrete room with a metal pole in the middle. The stage was an elevated wooden platform with a blank wall to project images on. When they first started hosting shows, the mixer was set up stage right. Eventually, they installed a crow’s nest that sits above the crowd facing the stage. Space for gear was limited, so bands lined their gear up along the sidewalk in the back and loaded in through the stage-left side of the room. Bands set up their merch in the entry room, where you would also find folks hanging out between bands. The owners would usually be there selling snacks and sodas to the crowd. There wasn’t much hangout space inside the venue (with the exception of the entry room), so most people would hang out in the parking lot behind the building between bands. During the aforementioned Belushi Speedball set, someone set up a bubble machine that turned half the parking lot into a suds forest.
